The 2035 Audi RSQ starring in the Twentieth Century Fox movie, I, Robot.

If you love your Audi A4 Quattro or the new Audi A8, then you’ll be excited about a
sneak peek at the 2035 Audi RSQ. That’s right the 2035 model Audi is going on
display. Actor Will Smith is starring in a new movie from Twentieth Century Fox called
I Robot. The Summer 2004 film is an homage of sorts to the classic Isaac Asimov
novel of the same name. No plot details here. We just want to see the cool car. It gets
second billing, but Audi hopes to win over moviegoers and sell cars. It worked on the Photos@VectorTrust.com team. We want one NOW! Where do we trade
in the Audi A4 Quattro we drive in 2004.

Audi is calling this movie car the RSQ. It was specially designed in cooperation with the
I Robot movie’s director Alex Poroyas. The PR spin is that Poroyas is an Audi owner and
pitched the I Robot movie deal after seeing the Nuvolari concept car at the European
auto shows last year. I Robot is a "cop story" about a murder investigation in the year
2035. Can the detective solve the crime? The film depicts a future in which cars are
controlled by an automated grid. Our hero/star Will Smith manually drives the Audi
RSQ, because it’s such a great handling automobile. Audi must love that story line. Who
cares if he solves the crime.
Car companies are always looking for placement opportunities to show off their coolest car models. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. What car nut doesn’t remember Steve McQueen’s Mustang from the movie Bullitt..... and the Challenger too for that matter. All these years later, that "cop movie" still sells Mustangs. ( By the way, Have you seen the early pictures of the 2005 Ford Mustang yet? very cool.... a modern car, with some retro style elements. The Mustang enthusiast community will be happy.) |

Only time will tell if I Robot is the next great chase movie. A big Audi sedan was not as
memorable in the John Frankenheimer's chase scenes in the 1998 action movie Ronin
starring Jean Reno and Robert de Niro. It was a great "chase", just not much of a product
plug. The famous four rings played the leading car role in Mission Impossible II, with
Tom Cruise in 2000. Same story....lost in the background. Did anyone actually go see the
Reese Witherspoon movie Legally Blonde 2 ? The PR guys say the Audi was the car
star in that one too. We’ll take there word for it.
This 20035 Audi RSQ is the glamour car of a threesome built for I Robot movie production, filming and promotion. One was destroyed on purpose in an action sequence. One was built specifically for the interior shots that show Will Smith driving. This is the car you will see used for promotional appearances at car shows and events to hype the I Robot movie.
